Supplement MOQs in Europe 2026: What 12 Manufacturers Ask For

Quick answer

We read the websites of 12 supplement manufacturers and white-label suppliers that rank on the first page of Google for manufacturer searches in English and German. 9 of the 12 publish a minimum order. For white label from existing formulas, the published minimums run from 20 to 500 units, with a median around 200. For a custom formula they jump to 1,000 units at the low end and 30,000 to 300,000 capsules or softgels at the high end. 5 of the 12 websites state different minimums on different pages, and almost every site counts in a different unit.

What minimum order should a new supplement brand expect in Europe? Instead of guessing, we collected what manufacturers publish themselves. This study shows the ranges, not the companies: we name no manufacturer, and Vita Supplements is not part of the sample.

How did we collect the data?

We took the 12 manufacturers and white-label suppliers that appeared at least four times in the top ten results across 49 Google searches for supplement manufacturers in English and German in October 2026. They are based in Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Romania and Bulgaria. Marketplaces were excluded.

On 7 October 2026 we read each company's own website, including FAQs, service pages and product pages, and recorded every minimum order it states. We did not request quotes. Where a site gives two different numbers, we counted both.

How many manufacturers publish a minimum order?

9 of 12. The other three say the minimum is set per project or per product and give no number. For a brand comparing options, a missing number usually means a call or a quote request before you know whether the manufacturer fits at all.

What is the minimum for white label?

Between 20 and 500 units, from the six suppliers that publish a white-label or ready-formula minimum. The median sits around 200 units.

Published white-label minimumSuppliers
under 100 units2
100 to 250 units2
500 units2

Lead times for white label are published by most of them and cluster at 2 to 4 weeks, with one supplier stating 14 days after the packaging artwork arrives.

What is the minimum for a custom formula?

Much higher, and it depends heavily on the dosage form. These are the published ranges for products made to your own formula:

Dosage formPublished custom minimumsSuppliers stating it
Hard capsules30,000 to 150,000 capsules4
Tablets100,000 to 150,000 tablets3
Softgels200,000 to 300,000 softgels3
Powder50 to 250 kg4
Sachets and sticks30,000 to 80,000 sachets2
Gummies5,000 jars1

One supplier states about 1,000 units per product for private label based on an existing formula. Lead times for custom products are stated as 4 to 16 weeks for the first batch.

Why are the numbers so hard to compare?

  • Different units. Sites count jars, bottles, capsules, tablets, kilograms or litres. 30,000 capsules is 500 jars of 60; 150,000 capsules is 2,500 jars.
  • Contradictions. 5 of the 12 websites state different minimums on different pages, for example 250 jars on one page and 100,000 capsules on another.
  • White label and custom mixed up. Some sites give one number without saying whether it applies to stock formulas, custom formulas or both.

What should a brand ask for?

  • The minimum in jars or bottles of your size, not in capsules or kilograms.
  • Separate minimums for white label and for your own formula.
  • Whether the minimum applies per product, per flavour or per batch.
  • The price per unit at the minimum and at two larger volumes.
  • All of it in writing, in the quote.

Frequently asked questions

What is a typical supplement MOQ in Europe? +

For white label from existing formulas, the 12 manufacturers we studied publish minimums between 20 and 500 units, with a median around 200. For a custom formula, published minimums start around 1,000 units and reach 30,000 to 300,000 capsules or softgels.

Why is the minimum for softgels so high? +

Softgels are made on rotary die machines that need long runs to be efficient, so the custom minimums published for softgels, 200,000 to 300,000, are the highest of any format in our sample.

How do I compare MOQs between manufacturers? +

Convert every minimum into jars or bottles of your pack size, and ask separately for white label and for your own formula. 30,000 capsules is 500 jars of 60.

Is this study sponsored or does it name manufacturers? +

Neither. It was compiled by Vita Supplements from public websites, names no company and does not include Vita in the sample.
